It was like he was issuing a kriffing challenge right then and there. A challenge she was more than up for. Oh, if only she wasn’t on the clock. If she wasn’t in the middle of a job, she’d drag him by the hand back to her room. Take him up on that challenge and show him just how real this connection between them was. But, her contracts came first.
Watching him walk away, Lillian took in every inch of him.
No one had ever walked away from her before. She was both confused and impressed.
Remaining silent, she let him think he won. For the time being, of course. She couldn’t chase after him like she wanted to .. desperately.
She was about to snag another partner when she saw the understudy ( was that the right word? ) of one of her bounties come stalking in. Kriff. How did they know she’d be here? Without much thought, she walked in the same direction Han had ; slipping a spare room key into his back pocket. Making sure Han saw her, she walked past him and into the hallway ; knowing she was being followed by someone who wanted her dead.
“Hunter! Face me!“
Hearing that, Lillian froze. This wasn’t going to end well. Instead of listening, she kept walking ; trying to get free of the crowd as the understudy followed with clear intent to kill her in her eyes. Silently, she hoped Han would notice the key or notice she was doomed without a weapon.
His jaw jutted out a bit more than usual —— PRIDE. While the smuggler liked to believe he was ALWAYS right, he hardly ever won ; at least when it came to relationships … or whatever this thing was between them. Eyes ablaze, the infamous smirk curled his lips, the man practically s t r u t t i n g to the bar ( he really could be so easy to please ).
The light touch however made him pause — only briefly. He knew from experience to always create fluid movement, to not appear SURPRISED ( especially in the midst of the enemy. Anyone could be here ; a wanted man was never safe ). In a quick swipe he had the key in his hand, recognizing it instantly. At first, he thought it was a sign for the F U N ahead, but instead the stranger’s rumbling voice broke through the crowd.
Han kept his c o o l ——— as he always did. The unexpected was always expected. Golden orbs stole a peek at Lillian, && all he knew was that she had to get away, && SAFELY. The key back in his pocket, a calloused hand gripping a cool full glass of some fancy drink or other (it wasn’t his, the disapproving click of the tongue from it’s owner obvious).
An actor at heart, or at least one who could distract, the drink flew from his hand, drowning the bounty in cool drink. “Oh, sorry man.” A shrug, he stood directly in front of him, an attempt to block the way as Han continued to apologize in every way he could.
But no, nothing was ever simple.
The bounty pushed passed him, a growl parting his lips. He was determined, Han would give him that. A l o n g sigh —— he didn’t want to resort to this, even if it was a lot more FUN. Hands gripped the back of the other’s tee, pulling him back before Han landed a swift, hard punch to the guy’s face. That was one way to get noticed … certainly be every other bounty hunter in the room who wanted to fight.
