Once she could no longer walk backwards, she spun on her heel ; curls fanning out as she moved. Tugging her cropped jacket, she missed the weight of her armor. She had to remove it all and leave them back at the wreck. Best to let who ever shot her down think she died on impact. Or at least died soon after in an attempt to get help.
Ignoring the smirk on the man’s lips, the bounty hunter kept walking. If she was careful enough, she could take him for all he had before they even reached the wreck. But then she’d have to go against his partner and she’d still be stuck. Besides, it wouldn’t kill her pride to get help this one time. At least, in theory it wouldn’t.
Lillian had to physically bite her tongue to keep from dragging him out loud. There was no way he was that damned busy. She wasn’t buying that line for a minute. At his question, she eyed him for a moment. Soot and grease dotted her face lightly ( most of it having been wiped away on her trek ), and evidence of lack of sleep displayed itself under her eyes.
“I wasn’t runnin’ from anyone.” A lie, but he didn’t need to know that. People ran from her, dammit. “Someone shot me down .. or tried to, anyway.” This was one messy breakup, that was for sure. “Hopefully he they think I’m dead.”
Brows knit at her STORY, not buying it for one second Oh, he knew what being on the run looked like ——— && she was a p r i m e example. He wanted to push her, to force her to tell the truth. Yet, for once, he remained silent, gaze instead focused on their surroundings ( making sure she didn’t try to pull anything funny).
He was too exhausted to fuss ; he may not have gotten into a wreck, but BOBA was not a guy he’d like to run into again. The dynamic duo just barely made it ( && he now owed another life debt to that fuzzball ,just as the other did him, they worked well that way ).
Hazel orbs settled on the back of her head, staring her down intently ; he kept his distance, yet kept in arms reach just in case he had to f i g h t back. He was one to judge off appearances (he had to make it his business), && she certainly looked the type.
Han was pushing it, he could tell by the pressure on his chest. But alas, he didn’t exactly care. He never did —— reckless && stubborn. “Well, then what’ya do to make ‘em WANT to KILL ya ?? Had to be bad, cause gettin’ rid of such a pretty one is a pity.” Smirk widened, arms crossing over strong torso.
